....VENTURES.. ..EVENTS.. ..NEWS.. ..PICTURES.... VENTURES Venture Scouts is an extension of the scouts system with one major difference, the ventures totally organise the programme for the year. The leaders are only there when they have to be!!! Ventures meet usually once a week to organise what they want to do. It is then up to the ventures to go and organise these activities. For this reason ventures can do anything that they want to do. Some of the activities include helping leaders on camp, hiking, rock climbing, abseiling, water skiing, and anything else that takes an interest! VENTURING It's hard to explain what Venturing is all about! This is because as a Venture Scout you could end up doing almost anything- Imagination is your only limit! You can challenge yourself, try new things, acheive your goals and most importantly have a laugh with a group of like minded young people! As a Venture Scout you could find yourself trekking with a friend across some far off country on the Explorer Belt, or exploring the lesser known parts of Ireland on Challenge. You might decide to go along to the Venture Scout Moot or Ventact and meet with Ventures from around the country, then again you might hit the Galtees for a weekend of adventurous hill-walking! In a fit of madness you might decide to try it all and really explorer what Venture Scouting has to offer you, but with all that's possible it might take you awhile to get around to everything!
