Recent news:01-Sept-2009: Hi All. Registration for all Beavers, Cubs, Scouts & Ventures will take place at 7.00pm on Monday 7th September 2009. A parents or guardian for all youth members will need to attend and registration fees can also be paid at this time. 11-Mar-2009: Hi All. Please take a moment to remember one of the greats in scouting in our county. It is with great sadness that i must announce that, one of scouting’s greatest is gone to her rest. Earlier this evening, Martee McCaffrey passed away. Martee was involved in scouting for over 30 years and served as a cub leader, Beaver leader and Group leader of 1st Galway (St Josephs). Martee would be more fondly remembered in her role as a trainer and served in the position of Assistant Commissioner for training in the former CBSI/CSI and as County Training Co-ordinator for the County until her retirement two years ago. Tommy Flaherty 9/3/2009 13-Jan-2009: Ventures are now back from The Swiss Ski Trip 2009 in Kandersteg. A great time was had by all and hopefully it won't be the last trip of it's kind. Photos will be posted in the pictures section shortly!! 18-May-2008: The Ventures helped out with the Galway Scout County Camp over the weekend. The ventures ran the first aid base for the scouts while also helping out with every other task over the weekend. The leaders want to extend a huge "Thank You" to the venture section. 09/05/08 - 11/05/08: The Ventures took part in the Summer SNS in Scotland. It was a great adventure enjoyed by all. I'm sure the Snow Capped mountains had something to do with this. Pictures will be uploaded soon. 13/04/08: The Ventures had a great time at the musical The Hot Mikado in the town hall. One of our leaders being in the show definately added to the entertainment. |
